What happens after I place an order? How long does it take to be made?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with an order number and an estimated shipping time frame. Every piece of our furniture and home decor is sustainably produced and made-to-order to reduce waste. It normally takes approximately 7 days for our artisans to complete your order, ready to send out from our New York studio. Delays may occur due to logistics, customs policies in different countries, national holidays and, of course, the pandemic etc. These are outside of SOUL OF SHADOW's control.


Can I use a PO box as my shipping address?

SOUL OF SHADOW cannot ship to P.O. boxes, APO, or FPO.


Why made to order?

Each object is made-to-order by our artisans just for you. Your pre-order means we can reduce waste in our supply chain and produce more sustainably. Your patience helps create a low-waste & more eco-friendly system and for that we thank you.


What shipping carriers should I choose for my order?

We currently work with USPS, UPS and DHL as our main carriers for both orders within the US and outside.


DHL

DHL Express is limited to shipping from the continental United States only. This excludes US territories such as Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. Also, DHL Express doesn't provide shipping to Russia.

All DHL Express international shipments, except those to Canada, have a signature required for delivery service included in the price.

UPS

For international orders: you can ship internationally using UPS Worldwide Saver, UPS World Expedited®, and UPS Standard to Canada.

Insurance is included when you purchase a shipping label from UPS. Shipping services that include insurance coverage cover a maximum of $100 USD.

You can add more shipping insurance when you buy a shipping label.

USPS

For international orders: you can ship internationally using USPS Priority Mail International (we don't offer USPS First-Class International shipping at this moment for the safety of your package).

I live in New York, can I schedule a local pick up?

Unfortunately we don't offer local pick ups at this moment.

 

Can I expedite my order if I need it before certain date?

We understand you may need your order for those special and important days. Send us an email at hello@soulofshadow.com. We will try our best to make that happen if possible. Expedite fees may occur.

 

I need to change my shipping address. What should I do?

Send us an email at hello@soulofshadow.com as soon as possible. If your order hasn’t left our studio yet, we will be more than happy to change the shipping address for you. 

 

What should I do after I receive my order?

When you first receive your home object(s), please follow the instructions inside of the ritual box and wear the gloves provided inside the box before inspecting the object. The palms of our hands naturally produce sweat and oil that could permanently alter the finish of SOUL OF SHADOW home objects. Marks and oil stains resulted from not wearing gloves before proceeding might lead to a rejection of your return since the object would not be in its original state. 

 

Is every object handcrafted from SOUL OF SHADOW?

Yes and we are very proud of that! Not only each object is hand polished and finished, it is made-to-order by our artisans just for you.

Please note that every piece from our collections is carefully crafted and finished by hand. Natural blemishes, minimal imperfections and slight variations from one product to another are inherent in the creation process and make your purchase unique, captivating and truly one of a kind.  

 

Who founded SOUL OF SHADOW?

Shadow Qu is the founder of Soul of Shadow and a female entrepreneur. Raised by a Buddhist mother and having lived in Asia, Europe and now New York, she dedicates her work and herself to explore new conversations between sustainable living and product design. Her passion for recyclable materials combined with craftsmanship and new technology brings innovation into the conversation, expanding the possibilities of sustainable modern living.
